Tucked just steps away from the infamous Duval Street is the Thirsty Mermaid. This little gem is one of Key West’s best kept secrets. Fresh seafood and an amazing daily happy hour make this a popular hangout for locals and visitors alike.
On our visit we tried the ceviche du jour, mac and cheese croquettes and sautéed mussels. All three items barley made their photo shoot before I inhaled every morsel. We visited after a long day in the sun so I didn’t partake in any of their beer or wine offerings but the menu was pretty extensive and had some unique options.
In addition to their happy hour menu they offer a full lunch and dinner menu complete with a raw bar, daily fresh catch, salads, burgers and a sirloin for the anti-pescatarians. If you’re in search of something a little quieter than the Duval Street offerings but with incredible food this is the place for you. For more information or to visit their website please click here
